Do You Know?

Have you found yourself asking the question, “Who are you, Lord?” God is the One who loves you so much, He offers you life everlasting. God sent His only Son to die for your sins. We are all sinners. We all fall short of the glory of God. When sin entered the world, we were separated from God. Because He is perfect and Holy, He knows no sin; we could no longer enter into His presence. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is anything that separates you from God. Sin is disobeying God. You must come to the place of understanding and admit that you have sinned. When you reach the place of understanding that because of your sin you are forever separated from God, you must come to a place of repentance (having sorrow and remorse for that sin).
God loves you and offers the solution to your sin problem. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He sent His Son to die for your sins and offer you the gift of salvation. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). That is how much God loves you. Salvation is not something you can earn or even deserve, but God offers it to you as a free gift. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). It is His Abounding Grace and love that gives you the way to Him. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, andthe life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6). You can be delivered from your sin by accepting the gift of salvation. Salvation is by His grace and nothing else. Salvation is through faith and nothing else. Salvation is in Christ and nothing else. Jesus paid for our sin on the cross so that we could be reconciled with God. Upon accepting Christ as your Savior you are forgiven for your sin and your relationship is restored with God.
What next? Confess, Believe and Call upon the name of the Lord. You must confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10). When you confess, you agree with God that your sin is deserving of death and eternity in hell. You agree that His way of salvation is the only way through His Gracious and Loving sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. You must believe in your heart that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross paid the sin debt for you. Christ conquered sin and death on the cross. He rose from the grave three days after He was buried and is now seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. “…which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 1:20). When you recognize your need for a Savior and that Jesus meets that need, you must call upon His name. “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
